World Beneath the War, A
History - 1x54

This film is the untold story of Vietnam's tunnels. It shows how a third world country -- one of the world's poorest nations -- defeated the world's mightiest army. Vietnamese filmmakers opened their archives and shared some rare footage that shows, for the first time, how many North Vietnamese lived during the war and the price they paid for victory. Yet it is also a story of the survival of the human spirit. Stories from the point of view of an artist, a woman militia commander, a physician and villagers, surpass political ideology and restore our faith in the human spirit.
